Service Description: Image service displaying Slope for LiDAR-derived DEMs (expressed in Degrees) for 71 counties in Wisconsin, last updated February 6th, 2020. A Slope Raster Function was applied to the Referenced Mosaic Dataset used to publish this service, with the Slope function Output Measurement set to DEGREE, and a Z factor of 1. The data sources are county-produced LiDAR with a range of flight years and DEM resolution: Counties with 3-Meter resolution DEMs: Adams (2010), Chippewa (2012), Columbia (2011), Crawford (2010/2011), Dunn (2008), Grant (2011), Green (2011), Iowa (2010), Jackson (2015), Juneau (2010), Lafayette (2011), Marathon (2012), Monroe (2010), Richland (2010), Sauk (2011), Vernon (2010) and Waupaca (2005). Counties with 2-meter resolution DEMs: Brown (2010), Calumet (2005), Fond du Lac (2011), Green Lake (2009), Jefferson (2005), Rock (2011), & Winnebago (2014); also the City of Oshkosh and portions of adjacent Townships (2009). Counties with a 10-foot resolution DEM: Kewaunee (2012). Counties with 1-meter resolution DEMs: Ashland (2014), Barron (2005), Bayfield (2016), Buffalo (2016), Burnett (2015), Clark (2018), Dane (2017), Dodge (2017), Door (2018), Douglas (2016), Eau Claire (2013), Florence (2017), Forest (2017), Iron (2015), Kenosha (2017), La Crosse (2017), Lincoln (2015), Manitowoc (2015), Marinette (2015), Marquette (2018), Oconto (1.5-meter DEM, 2005), Oneida (2013), Outagamie (2018), Pepin (2013), Pierce (2015), Polk (2015), Portage (2016), Price (2018), Racine (2017), Rusk (2011), Saint Croix (2014), (Milwaukee (2015), Ozaukee (2015), Walworth (2015), Washington (2015), & Waukesha (2015), Shawano (2015), Sheboygan (1.5-meter DEM, 2004), Taylor (2016), Trempealeau (2014), Vilas (2013), Washburn (2016) & Wood (2015). Counties with 2-foot resolution DEM: Waushara (2017 – Preliminary version), Langlade (2017) & Sawyer (2017). Several no-data areas are present in the source data due to lack of data availability. Some other areas display as data gaps when the service is viewed at statewide scales, but display normally when zoomed in to larger scales. We hope to address the no-data areas and small-scale data gaps in future updates to this service. The DEMs have not been hydrologically conditioned. Elevation units are Meters. The Vertical Datum for the DEMs is NAVD88. WI DNR acknowledges the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, USGS, FEMA, the Southeastern WI Regional Planning Commission, and the individual counties listed above, for making source data available.
