Service Description: The data source for this image service is a Hillshade derived from a 10-meter DEM covering Wisconsin and portions of adjacent states. The service was published using a referenced mosaic dataset to which the Hillshade function was applied, with no vertical exaggeration factor. The Hillshade is intended for visualization of the landscape, rather than analysis. When queried, the Hillshade pixel values do not indicate elevation; instead, the pixel values range from 0 to 255 because the image is rendered as an 8-bit greyscale image. If elevation values are needed, use one of the DEM services found in the same service folder as the EN_Hillshade_10m service. WI DNR acknowledges the USGS for making source data available.
