Description: This dataset is an extract of spatial and limited tabular data from the NRCS national soils database. The data is housed at WDNR, but is updated occasionally when NRCS makes new soil survey area data available. When you identify a soil polygon, the "Link to NRCS Soil Report" in the identify report will send a request to an NRCS server for more detailed information on the particular soil type you identified. The soil report you receive will be in PDF format. The NRCS server runs slowly under heavy load, so it may take a few minutes for the report to be generated.
