Layer: USDA Wetspots (ID: 20)

Name: USDA Wetspots

Display Field: OBJECTID

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPoint

Description: This layer displays the location of features too small to delineate at the mapping scale, but they are large enough and contrasting enough to significantly influence use and management. The soil map units are linked to attributes in the National Soil Information System relational database, which gives the proportionate extent of the component soils and their properties. The official definition of a wetspot as noted in the NRCS Soil Survey Handbook is: "A somewhat poorly drained to very poorly drained soil at least two drainage classes wetter than the named soils in the surrounding map unit. Typically less than 4 acres." For more information, see: ftp://dnrftp01.wi.gov/geodata/metadata/nrcs_soil_wetspots.pdf.
