Description: Sediment inventory sites are areas of rivers, lakes, and impoundments where concentrations of contaminants are suspected or confirmed to be elevated in the sediment or bottom substrate of the water. The sediment inventory provides a list of sites that can be used for management and workplanning purposes and reflects the various stages of sediment investigation, rememdiation, and/or removal and restoration. Sediment inventory sites were derived from historical information and files where known problems existed and is maintained by updates to restoration projects and other key information discovered through various sources, including routine sediment dredging under NR347.
