Service Description: This map service shows DNR Managed Lands by property and symbolized by fee simple (DNR owned), DNR Easement on Private Land and DNR Lease on County or Federal Land (TRANS_TYPE 1, 2 and [5,7,9] respectively). Properties have been further dissolved by public access level (EASE_USE_CODE) which reflects activity restrictions placed on the property through deed language. EASE_USE_CODE code values are as follows: 1111 – Parcel open to public access. 1211 – Parcel open to passive use, hunting and trapping (no fishing). 1121 – Parcel open to passive use, fishing, and trapping (no hunting). 1112 – Parcel open to passive use, hunting and fishing (no trapping). 1122 – Parcel open to passive use and fishing. 1222 – Parcel open for passive use only. 2111 – Parcel open to hunting, fishing, and trapping. 2211 – Parcel open to hunting and trapping. 2122 – Parcel open to fishing only. 2212 – Parcel open to hunting only. Code sequence is Hiking, Fishing, Hunting, Trapping. Code ‘1’ indicates open, ‘2’ indicates closed. For example, a code of ‘1122’ indicates the property is open to hiking & fishing but closed to hunting & trapping. Beyond this map service, please refer to https://dnrmaps.wi.gov/arcgis/rest/services/DW_Map_Dynamic/EN_Closed_Restricted_Areas_WTM_Ext/MapServer for properties with restrictions, closed areas and game refuges as authorized by state administrative code (NR 10, NR 11, NR 29, and NR 45). The department web mapping applications contain the most current information about DNR properties and private lands under DNR management with public access for hunting and recreational activities. Please be aware that 3rd party web mapping applications (e.g., Google Maps, commercial mapping companies, etc.) may display erroneous boundaries of these properties. To ensure that you can reach your intended area and avoid trespassing, use DNR web mapping applications to plan your outing. Confirm the ownership of non-DNR public land (e.g., municipal, county, federal), tribal land and private land through other means, and recognize that on-ground postings and property boundary signs override property boundaries shown in DNR and 3rd party web mapping applications and should be respected.
