Description: Boundaries of Wisconsin cities, villages and towns not split at county boundaries. This feature class includes associated federal and state Minor Civil Division (MCD) codes. In this feature class, county boundary lines are dissolved in cases where a municipality (MCD) spans two or more counties. In other words, each MCD is represented as a single polygon or region feature. See feature class EN_MCD_MULTI_CTY_AR_VAR for MCDs intersected by county boundaries. The source of this data is the latest "WI Cities, Towns, and Villages” data set published by the Wisconsin Legislative Technical Services Bureau (LTSB). DNR staff occasionally make edits to this data to reflect annexations and incorporations that have occurred since the latest LTSB release.
