This service displays US Geological Survey Digital Raster Graphics from the USGS 1:250,000-, 1:100,000, and 24,000-scale topographic map series. At small to intermediate map scales, a “simulated 1:500,000-scale” DRG displays, comprised of vector and raster data layers (roads, municipal areas, surface water, etc.) designed to convey the look-and-feel of a topographic map. Quadrangle indexes for the 250K, 100K and 24K USGS topographic map series are available for query operations. Starting in July of 2022, DNR staff have edited some DRG images to remove feature names that have been recently renamed due to having been deemed offensive or inappropriate. Similar edits will be periodically made when such name changes occur. WI DNR recognizes the US Geological Survey for making source data available. |
